We are into the second week of 2024. Let me give passive income report of 2023 with its breakups.

I record on a cash basis. So, this report won’t include accrued income like interest of an immature fixed deposit.

Interest Income

Interest earned by my emergency fund and war chest fund are included in this category.

In 2023, income in this category is Nu. 22,492.64 which is 29.7% of total passive income for the year.

Since it’s not a taxable income in Bhutan, I should allocate more funds to increase it in coming years.

Commissions

It is the total income earned from the sales of insurance policies of Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan.

Though few of my clients cancelled their insurance policies, I could earn Nu. 24,097.64 which isn’t bad.

Dividend Income

Dividend received from those companies present in my portfolio is put in this income class.

The dividend income in 2023 is Nu.29,045.40 which is 38.4%. However, it doesn’t include stock dividend.

Profit Income

If I have sold some shares at profit in 2023, there will be some income in this category.

Conclusion

This means I could earn Nu. 6,300 per month as passive income in 2023. It’s a sign of my money working for me.

In 2024, my aim is to increase interest income. Dividend will increase as I have increased my holding. Let us see how my passive income will be in the year 2024.
